Our 'Charter's Double Hollyhocks' are the best you can put in your garden. Ours will be blooming the first season and every year after, as a perennial. Most other hollyhocks take two years to bloom and then bloom every other year. This collection will produce large 3-4" DOUBLE PETALED papery hollyhock flowers from the base of the plant all the way to the top, 5-6' of pure flower power. Plus this variety self-seeds freely and even blooms from these seeds the very next year making them perform like perennial plants. They build vertical structure necessary in any garden with practical functioning paths and hedges or fences. The plants give the impression of casualness and a country feel with every square inch of the plant covered with rich blossoms. The flower stalks may reach 5 to 7 feet in height and begin to open along the stalk, typically from the bottom up, in mid-summer lasting well into fall. A stunning cut or dried flower.
